Most leather produced in the world is chrome tanned. Chrome tanning produces leather better suited for certain applications, particularly for the upper parts of boots and shoes, and requires less processing time than traditional vegetable tanning. It is basically a combination of chemicals, acids and salts to dye the hide.
SEPICI puts high efforts in selecting the chemicals used in its chrome tanning. It is conducting a detailed R&D program in chrome tannery to improve the product quality as well as to tan the leather in a more environmental friendly way. Our final products do not contain Azo-Dyes/P.C.P/ Chromium VI. Cadmium, Formaldehyde, or other Carcinogenic Substances more than E.U. limits. According to SEPICI standards of raw hide buying, only International or domestic, high quality, traceable bovines from certified producers are used for chrome products as well.
