With its 91-year history, Sepiciler has been the global brand of Turkish leather industry which is committed to sustainability principles and manufacturing products respecting nature. The term SEPICI means “someone dealing with tanning”. Our story began with Ahmet Mehmet Sepici, our founder (1907-1981) setting up his own business in 1930. Mehmet Sepici who began his business life by tanning goat leather for hat production moved to a new location in 1953 in Yeşildere. In an unprecedented initiative due to the absence of an organised leather industry in Turkey back then, the foundations of Sepiciler Çaybaşı Leather factory in Torbalı, with its own special modern treatment facility, were laid in 1974. Today, this facility consisting of three separate factories including chrome tanned, vegetal and sole leather with export volume which is increasing day by day is preferred by global brands and is being run by third generation family members. Today, Sepiciler Çaybaşı Deri Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi aims to provide products and services at international quality standards by using its resources in the most effective manner, maintain its environmental management organisation which respects nature and natural resources, contribute to economic development and represent its country in the international market in the best possible manner.
