Vegetal leather means leather tanned with natural tannins such as tree barks. It is the oldest tanning method known to man. This tanning method which has existed for centuries constitutes less than 10% of the tanning presently carried out worldwide. What makes vegetal tanning unique is that it is heavier, more durable, has a unique structure and is used in the production of good leather products. Compared to other leather types, vegetal tanned leather becomes more beautiful as it ages, its colour sets and it has a remarkable classic fragrance.
